What is The Call to Unite?
The Call to Unite is a 24-hour livestream event that invites the world to recognize our shared humanity and offer one another support. Viewers will come together as spiritual, cultural, and civic leaders channel our energy into a global movement to directly support those in need. All participants will be challenged to give, serve, and share their story – and commit to emerging from this moment better than before.
When is the livestream event?
The 24-hour livestream begins Friday, May 1, 2020 at 8 PM EDT and airs through Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 8 PM EDT.
Where is it happening?
The Call to Unite will be live-streamed here at unite.us, as well as all major streaming platforms – including Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, LinkedIn, SiriusXM Stars channel 109, and others to come.
Why is The Call to Unite happening now?
Today, billions of people around the world are isolated and anxious because of the COVID-19 pandemic – unable to gather with loved ones, go to work, or even mourn those they’ve lost. Still, in this moment of isolation, millions are rising to the occasion by showing each other love and support in countless ways. The Call to Unite is a celebration of those acts of humanity, and an invitation to the world to join in lifting one another in this moment of need.
What is happening during The Call to Unite?
The event will feature a special opening hour hosted by Tim Shriver with leaders including Oprah Winfrey, Eckhart Tolle, T.D. Jakes, former Presidents, and more. Throughout the 24 hours, global leaders and entertainers will join front-line heroes and citizens of the world as each uniquely answers the call to unite – by teaching a practice, offering a prayer, performing a song, sharing a memory, announcing a commitment to action, or otherwise presenting a gift that helps people not only cope with the pandemic, but also come out of it in a fundamentally better place than before.
